Brighter Futures Initiative 


The objective of the Brighter Futures Initiative is to improve the quality of, and access to, community-level culturally sensitive wellness services to help create healthy families and a health environment for children, parents, and community members.


The Objectives of the Brighter Futures Initiative are:


  • Provide a venue for advisory services to address and promote wellness

in: Mental Health, Injury Prevention, Healthy Babies, Parenting and Child Development

  • Provide advisory services to Treaty 7 First Nation BFI’s, Mental Health and Addiction Staff, and Front Line Workers on programs, services, and other community events.

  • Increase education, awareness, capacity, and partnerships related to BFI

  • Enrich the quality of and access to culturally appropriate and holistic community focused programming.


The five core components of the Brighter Futures program include:

Mental Health

Early Childhood


The T7HS Brighter Futures Coordinator works in cooperation with the Treaty 7 community Brighter Futures Coordinators. T7HS BFI hosts quarterly communication via both the Treaty 7 Health Secretariat Newsletter and quarterly meetings as directly related to the 5 core mandates of BFI.
